We found Banksia Cottage a very pleasant and convenient place to stay while our children attended a school camp. We would very happily stay there again.
The cottage was comfortable and spacious. The kitchen was very fully set up and the fire was easy to start and very cosy. However all the blinds and curtains were in disrepair and needing new hooks, rings or cords. This meant that we were unable to put some of them up which was quite a downer in terms of views of the bushland and the general ambience. The paintwork on the doorways around the bathroom doors was in serious need of repair and was not quite up to the comfy holiday mood of the cottage. I suspect if an electrician inspected the various electrical systems, major upgrades would be required to comply with safety standards.
We had a great time in Banksia Cottage. It was perfect for us with our 3 little kids. We could enjoy the wildlife by just sitting on the terrace. The cottage is a great place to start with walks or other activities in and around Halls Gap!
Well equipped and cosy little cottage in great location but in need of a little bit of TLC. Roof on back veranda leaking, shower recess needing a good scrub, back sliding door difficult to open and close and garden very overgrown. Also beds too hard for my taste. Loved having the ‘Roos in the back yard!
Banksia Cottage was a great hide away for a cool weekend in July; it was very well equipped with everything we needed; the wood fire heater was amazing and made our stay here very comfortable. The bed size was good, but a bit hard for my taste, still warm and I slept throughout the night. Recommending this place to couples.
Banksia Cottage was perfect for us. Great location and amply stocked with all you could need. Other than updating manuals for appliances which have updated could not fault. We would recommend and would stay again. Thanks
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in this lovely cottage. It was in a great spot & had everything we needed.
Spacious accommodation on the foothills of Boronia mountain. The place looked exactly like on the photos provided. The manger was friendly and helpful. We stayed during hot days in January but the AC in the living room and fans kept the place nice and cool. Overall great place for a family of small group close to cafes and sightseeing spots in or near Halls Gap. The only downside was that there was no wifi in the house (which we knew would be the case). We had 3 G reception only on our phones. The Foxtel didn’t work either on tv and we had very bad to no signal.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. TV reception can be a bit patchy sometimes as we are situeated in a Valley in a National Park. Phone reception is also similar thouigh Telstra is perfect so it depends on your carrier.
Lovely property! Close to walking trails. Kangaroos and deer in backyard and handy to shops. Nice rooms and nice big fenced back area. Really enjoyed our stay!
A very clean and well appointed cottage in a great location, on the doorstep of the Boronia Peak trail. Lovely back deck overlooking spacious, cool garden with an abundance of fairy wrens. Grey kangaroos graze on the camp oval behind in the evenings which you can view through the wire fence. Deer also paid a visit if you think that's a good thing. Be aware that it is adjacent to Tandara Lutheran Camp so if a camp is in, it may not be such a peaceful location! If visiting in winter, although you can easily heat the cottage with the AC, if your stay is extended and want a wood fire, you'll have to buy extra wood.
