Blue Wren Mews is a character-filled two-bedroom cottage that embraces its 1980s roots while providing the comforts you need for a relaxed Halls Gap stay.

Inside, warm timber walls, exposed beams, stonework and parquetry floors give the home its distinctive retro-country feel. The living area is centred around a wood-burning fireplace, making it particularly inviting after a day exploring the Grampians.

There are two bedrooms, including a main bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with a bunk-style configuration that includes a double bed below.

The home also includes a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with separate shower, laundry facilities and plenty of comfortable spaces to settle in.

Outside, the covered verandah wraps along the house and includes a BBQ, with the surrounding gums and bushland providing a peaceful backdrop. Keep an eye out for the kookaburras, cockatoos and local kangaroos that share the neighbourhood.

This isn't a sleek, newly built holiday house and that's very much part of its charm. Blue Wren Mews is warm, nostalgic and wonderfully at home amongst the gums.

Blue Wren Mews is an older character property with plenty of personality. Its timber interiors, stone features and retro details have been retained rather than replaced with a modern renovation.

Being in a natural Halls Gap setting also means wildlife is part of the experience. Kangaroos and native birds are regular visitors, and you'll be surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Australian bush.

The wood fire is a wonderful feature during the cooler months and is BYO firewood, while the covered verandah provides a spot to sit outside and enjoy the surroundings.
