House was as described. Extremely clean and everything there to make your stay enjoyable. Walking distance to the local hotel and an abundance of wild birds. Highly recommended.

No complaints

The 4 of us had a great time. The cottage was perfect for us and with the fire was toasty. Lots of wildlife and within easy reach of pub, coffee, etc. Beds were comfortable (a bedside lamp in the second bedroom would have been the icing on the cake but we coped). Excellent kitchen. Would recommend to anyone wanting easy reach to some great hiking. Many thanks

Secret Garden Cottage

A well-designed and well-located house. The layout of beds suited us well and they were very comfortable. The log fire did a good job of keeping the main living area warm, although the bedrooms were poorly insulated and cold during the winter weekend that we visited. There was also a reverse cycle air conditioner in the main living area, although it was noisy and seemed in need of maintenance. Lots of games and DVDs provided as well as two TVs. It was a good place to stay and we enjoyed our visit to Halls Gap and the Grampians. The kitchen was well-equipped although we would have appreciated a coffee pot or cafetiere to be able to make fresh coffee. 

Secret Garden Cottage

The Secret Garden Cottage is absolutely lovely! We arrived and immediately the driveway and landscape was gorgeous, with incredible views! The front and back gardens are well laid out and well kept. The house is gorgeous and was spotless when we entered. You are provided with so many things to watch, and all of the plates, glasses etc are very clean and well kept! The wood fire was also lovely and made the house so warm! It is also located right near the town centre, and the zoo! This meant that it was easy to get everywhere. Overall the house was amazing and we would definitely visit it again!

Beautiful!

This beautiful house with its spectacular garden is in a fantastic location in Halls Gap. Close to hiking trails, wineries and town. Also just a short walk to the local tavern. The home is comfortable and convenient with everything you could need for a long stay. The main bedroom is even bigger than it looks in the photos and the desk in the second bedroom was very handy. A covered car port at the back of the house was super convenient. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck and having a sunset wine on the front porch with the local cockatoos. Janet's communication was perfect and we really appreciated her replying so promptly to a query during our stay.

A Serene Retreat!

We had a fabulous stay here at Secret Garden Cottage. Everything had been accounted for - the host is very attuned to guests needs. The home is cosy, warm and beautifully furnished. The scenery, on the other hand, just speaks for itself - it's absolutely breathtaking! A wide array of wildlife will make itself either heard or visible to you, and there is SO much to explore. Will definitely be staying here again! Thank you so much!

Loved it :)

We loved our stay at Secret Garden. The home is spotlessly clean and the kitchen equipped with clean utensils and practical appliances. The wood heater was lovely & had a great supply of wood. We stayed when it was cool and the beds were lovely and warm, even had electric blankets! Our young kids loved the space and playing in the lovely garden. It's a short walk to the pub. I also strolled into town, about a 15 - 20 minute walk, plenty of kangaroos and emus to see on the way. Communication with the hosts was great, simple check- in procedure. Very quiet and private area. We'd definitely stay again. Enjoy!

Wonderful

Great house, very spacious and well set out. Woodfire was lovely. Fantastic views of Gariwerd and its waterfalls. Bonus visits from native animals.
